Turn the key to the "On" position for a few seconds while the fuel pump runs (can hear it in some GM vehicles- I haven't noticed it in the Malibu) to let it build up pressure, then over the Start. See if that changes anything.

The truck has not started since. Originally pulling the codes, it showed P0341 (cam pos sensor performace), and later showed crank pos sensor codes and glow plug codes, but only after numerous attempts to start. According to the scanner, it has no problems making fuel pressure- desired fp at 6k and actual builds to over 6k rapidly.Car wont start after I ran out of gas. Jun 13, 2014 · '05 Classic with the 2.2l Ecotec motor. Was running fine, starting fine, no problems. Yesterday I drove it to softball practice. When I go to start it to go home, it won't turn over. Cranks, but no start. It's cranking good, so I know the battery is good. I took off the Schrader valve and checked presence of fuel at the fuel rail. Remove the fuel pump relay from the power distribution box under the hood so the pump doesn't work. Try to see if it will start. Also, if it doesn't, see if it will start with starting fluid.
