Having a light strength based weapon as a side arm (Mace, Morning Star, Heavy Broadsword, Beastman Curved Sword, Whatever) is good for pressure and last hits, especially if a big giant weapon is your main threat. People get obsessed with just one weapon.Personally str/faith has better weapons imo but str/int you'll have more versatility 35 is the low end of the soft Cap and 50 is the high end after that it's just for spells so 40/40 should be fun still. yeup.
