8N blowing oil. New guy alert! Well I got an 8N given to me by my grandmother. We trailered it over to my friend up the road who is a mechanic. After new rims (the old ones were rusted through) a tune up kit, wires, plugs, new cap, my buddy had it running like a top. All the hydraulics worked well and the pto was in good shape.My 1949 - 1951 Ford Passenger Car Shop Manual reads 4 quarts. Is that with or w/o the remote oil filter canister? They don't specify. I changed my oil today and put three and a half quarts in the motor and 1/2 quart in the remote canister. There may be subtle differences in the formulation that affect brake, hydraulic, and transmission performance in high tech modern machines but even that is debatable.
