I just bought a 15 hp gamefisher (force) for a $100. I put a new water pump on it,cleaned the carb and replaced fuel lines. Compression is 90 on ea. cyd. I'm having a fuel issue and not sure what else I can do. It is loading up on #2 cyd. Once I dry it out, it's hard to start. It turned out to be a shift linkage problem. The linkage connection bolt wasn't tight so when I would shift in forward it would slip. Same with reverse, and that's why It would either freeze in forward, or neutral and wouldn't shift out of it. It is ok for water to come out immediately.If you have no water coming out that means there is no cooling taking place.You can take out the stat and check it by putting it in a glass of cold water for a few minutes and then put it in a glass of warm water and see if it opens at all.It should.Charlie. My father has a 9.9 GF (which I beleive is the same head as the 15) which is made by Chrysler/force. If the cowling has a grab handle on the top rear and is dark charcoal, you can be pretty sure it is of the Chrysler heritage.
